It is always humbling to see small Australian businesses using Bounce Rubber Bands. This Australian company, Skändi Original, especially warms our heart as their children’s toys, homewares and jewellery are handcrafted and ethically made on the South Coast of New South Wales. Skändi Original was established by the talented and Finnish born Marjo Niemelä, who not only designs the multifunctional pieces but also makes them.
Bounce Rubber Bands are used for the brands “Self-Propelling Boat”, which comes in a variety of different designs. The individually sculpted children’s toy uses a rubber band and a Marine Ply propeller to skim across any calm body of water, including the bathtub. Each boat is produced with naturally mould resistant Western Red Cedar, which when left untreated and wet releases a delightful scent.
Skändi Original came to us for their rubber band needs as they were unhappy with the quality of the bands they were previously using. After testing our bands, they found that they were “of a much higher quality than the other brands”.
